Jutogh is a Cantonment town in Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.  It is very near to Shimla and was built and controlled by Gurkha warriors before it came under direct control of Britishers who established a cantonment here. It falls along the old road connecting Kalka to Shimla and is one of the stations of historical Kalka – Shimla Train route. It was known as Jagatgarh fort before been named as Jutogh.

 Jutogh falls in the route of famous Kalka – Shimla Hill Railway, and has a functional Railway Station. Jutogh Railway Station is in Himachal Pradesh, Solan, Kandaghat. It belongs to Northern Railway; Ambala Cant Jn. Neighborhood Stations are Summer Hill, Taradevi. Nearby major Railway Station is Chandigarh and Airport is Shimla Airport .Total 4 Express Trains Stops at this Station.

 The emergence of the Cantonment Board as a municipal body in cantonments was basically in response to the need for maintenance of proper sanitation, health and hygiene in these areas. The scope of the Cantonment Board functions extends to the entire gamut of municipal administration. In addition to provide basic amenities, Cantonment Board, Jutogh also manages public welfare institutions and facilities to the residents of the cantonment area. At present total area of the cantonment is 349.53acres (As per Raksha Bhumi). As per census of  2011 the total population of the Cantonment including troops is 2062 Jutogh Cantonment Board is categorized as Class IV Cantonment and comprises of 4 members giving an equal representation to Elected and official members.

Under the Cantonments Act, 2006, the Cantonment Board has been entrusted with several crucial municipal functions such as street light, building activity regulation, water supply, sanitation, health, primary education, public safety and town planning. Apart from these regulatory functions, Cantonment Board also undertakes several additional measures under public improvement schemes and constantly endeavors to achieve excellence and upgrade the quality of services being provided to the general public. Jutogh Cantonment Board has travelled a long way in accepting the challenges posed by increasing pressure on civic amenities and is making constant efforts to improve the quality of life and provide the best quality of services.
